wAgAwAgA – Hyper Typewriter on Acroplane

wAgAwAgA returns to Acroplane for a full length release on the pay for side of the label and changes up his sounds incorporating warm acid tones with his signature broken hyper hectic beats.

This is a mega freakout almost like the electronica equivalent of free jazz, really enjoyed listening to this one especially as the tracks get longer and more crazy.

Available to buy now from Boomkat , Juno Download  and other download sites.

Militant Science Re-Launches As Net-Label

One of our favourite labels Militant Science run by Paul Blackford has decided to go from a pay for music business model to the download what you want for free net label. Reason being is that music that’s released for money is instantly being uploaded and hosted for free on torrents and naughty blogs, for a niche small label that only relies on digital sales for revenue is meaning that it’s not making any money so why not go straight to fans and give it away for free.

The quality of music on Militant Science is outstanding and will continue to be, it’s also one of the few specialist electro labels running at the moment.

A good place to start tucking into the back catalogue is with my personal favourite Militant Science release from Scrase – MSR002 both tracks Stakker and Ford are killer high tech electro/drum and bass hybrids.

Shelley Parker Launches Structure Recordings

Structure Recordings is a new label from the diverse and interesting DJ, producer and sound artist Shelley Parker . The roster is already established to include Cursor Miner, Emptyset, Filter Feeder, Kansas City Prophets, Marius Chan, Scanone, Shelley Parker and Zero Point Energy and the first three releases have already been confirmed. The first you can stream below and soon will be able to buy in digital and CD formats this March.  It’s a taste of what’s to come for the label varying between bass heavy broken beat, techno and interestingly a good portion of sound art.

I’m really excited about this label. For more info go to the Structure site.

null025: DEAD FADER

Drifting through a concentrated listening session we came across this Dead Fader mix for Electronic Explorations – and boom. That was that. Blown away into oblivion. The set was a searing mixture of sound art, design, drone and industrial grinds forged into bass music and straight away we were mesmirised by the Dead Fader sound. Dead Fader are a Brighton based production duo of John Cohen and Barry Prendergast, very much involved in the Wrong Music shennanigans and are currently signed to Cloaks label 3by3 where their debut LP Corrupt My Examiner was released to critical acclaim in spring last year. More recently, their remix of Point B’s Headland has just been released on Combat Recordings and it is a stunning soundscape of a track. You can also catch them live at various dates this year as well as in support of Seefeel this March and at Fusion Festival in Germany in the summer, check their Facebook for up to date tour info.

What we have here is a bit of a fun diversion from the guys from their production in a mixtape on a twisted hip hop tip with tracks from NHK, Kouhei Matsunaga and Autechre.
