The hype machine revved itself up for the launch of Bloc 2010 today with the relaunch of the website complete with redesign and announcement of the offical launch party scheduled for new years eve 2010 with Eastern Electrics at a secret location tba (buy early bird tickets here).

It’s been a big year for Bloc with places at Glastonbury and Glade putting on in my opinion one of the best techno parties in the world (at the very least that I have every experienced) in the Vapour tent there.

So hype hype hype get yourself over to the website to enter a competition to win free tickets and a nice chalet.

Ears are out for line up announcements. I’m sure we won’t be dissapointed.

My highlight of the whole festival Moderat brought to you by Bloc. (Youtube video link – embedding disabled.)

It was only a day ago but already 2 live recordings have surfaced from Warp Records grand 20th birthday celebrations the Sheffield take (download links below). The live tour has visited London, Paris and New York this year, and the Warp20 box set has sold out on pre order with a few being made available via events and ‘select retail outlets’ from 5th October. I think that Warp records has really come into its own this year through these celebrations and has claimed itself as the world’s leading intependent record label. It has intelligently and creatively experimented and sucessfully adjusted to the music industry now through the whole spectrum of media. Above is a media player widget which shifts to show the most current of music media they have on their website, to promote visually and audially their current artists and releases. This year they have also merged Warpmart and Bleep.com into one store selling their own full range of merchandise and curating a beautiful sounding vibe of music. Like other favourite online such as Boomkat and Rubadub they have their own style and sound not a heady mess of mp3’s undeclaritive of current trends and development like many mainstream e-tailers provide.

Happy birthday Warp and here’s to many more.

A big release drops today from Catalepsia on Métis Recordings.

2009 has seen Catalepsia already have 2 releases on Nice & Nasty records and appeared alongside n+v favourite Matt Chester doing remixes on Bass Shifter EP.

This EP includes an angular metalic remix from La Noirude slicing up the beats and sounds with an edge of stabbing rave and a deeper acidic one from Infected gAs, both versions dancefloor ready.

The original holds the strongest vibe of the track deep and engulfing with the main theme rising periodically that builds throughout the track. Catalepsia’s high quality this year make him one to much if you want an edgy sound to your techno while remaining pure.

He’s done some lovely promo mixes for this release which is available to buy now digitally and on Vinyl.
