Pretty Neat Records

Pretty Neat Records are a new label collective formed earlier this year wit, already from a talented group of artists they founded the label on the basis of variety and as a not for profit organisation with profits going to mental health charity Mind.

So far they have been featured by Knowledge, clambered their way to a healthy position in the Beatport minimal charts and been featured in Juno's Dubstep podcast. Hopefully there are more good things to come for this eclectic label who are successfully making a marriage out of good music for a good cause.

Their lively roster so far includes Kidkanevel, Organic Matter, Sol+Sample (remember their null+void podcasts) and The Fez.

Released today is Leumas's Miss-Takes EP, then coming next are from Sol+Sample and another from Torgo, the Sol half of aforementioned techno duo's solo work 2-step electro-acoustic project you can check out in the preview below. The player includesmy favourite Sol+Sample track to date.

Catalepsia V.S. Franz Kirmann

Both are French man relocated to the UK, the warmth of these tracks is unmistakenly French with an extra cutting and driving force in the produciton. It was the Not From Chicago EP from September last year that put Catelepsia on the null+void radar, particulary due to the dirtied up grand atmospherics that define his tracks. He has a few other releases scheduled in for his label Métis Recordings for this year that are worth watching out for.

This release is a combined effort between Métis and Photogram Recordings with Catalepsia and Franz Kirmann recipricating remix duties. It's very very nice. Listen above. To be released on limited edition vinyl.

Michael Forshaw: My Burds So Hairy She Needs Chemo EP

An EP with a title as rough and nasty humour a title as it's content, following from his storming set in the Fenchurch dome @ Bloc this year, Michael Forshaw is showing form in strength releasing a new 12" for Coin Operated Records. I already played out Grunt recently and it got massive response to it's hardcore rave breaks and accompanying tracks, Energise and Growler, are powered along with double bass kicks and acid lasers. It's a killer release.

Available to buy from Juno on Monday.
