Really looking forward to this gig especially as I had to pull out last minute from the February one which went off a storm. I'll be on from 2-3am so can really let loose and play to the room.Gonna be some great underground house and techno beats.
The Centrifuge are celebrating 3 successful years working with electronic music as a net label, events promoter and just recently they have launched an artist management arm to the organisation.
They have recently relocated their HQ main man missaw to Berlin, it has so much potential to create waves there presenting the underground UK sound of dance music. Headlining is a very special rare appearance from Replex's Bogdan Raczynsky and you can expect Cursor Miner to play the finest fucked up electro and Stormfield of Combat Recordings to provide heavy and dark beats and images also performing an AV set a sneak peak can be seen above taken from Plex.
The Centrifuge 3rd Birthday is on Friday 26th February at Tachels, Berlin from 10pm til morning. For more information see the Facebook event.
For extra reading and listening check out this interview and live set from Cursor Miner is good via The Fat Club
The buzz is still growing for this Friday's Plex with it's huge line up presenting Sandwell District and so far receiving editorial support from Resident Advisor, FACT Magazine and 365mag.
I'm also playing and very very excited about it.
The last batch of tickets went on sale today on Resident Advisor and also We Got Tickets. Get them in advance to save yourself a few bob.
Got some mega media overload for you now, links to masses of music from the artists playing helpfully supplied by the Plex crew and resident Luke Handsfree has recently put out another mix himself, you even get to hear some of the unreleased Balkan Vinyl tracks too.
We did take a fair long break on null+void for Christmas. Happy New Year all it's good to be back well rested and refreshed.
We are getting ready for a redesign of null+void so we can organise different sorts of news stories and also give more over to the guest banner artists plus the podcast keeps getting stronger with forthcoming submissions confirmed so far by Paul Blackford and Jakeone to look forward to this year.
Plus I've got some DJ dates for January and February to look forward to. Starting off on the 22nd of January at The Horse & Groom in Shoreditch for the launch of Inhouse, then by Plex on 5th Feb and closely followed with my SUPERDISCO residencey on the 12th. More details to follow of these parties.
Time for a catch up of releases that I've missed these past couple of weeks:
First is Bass Gun Records compilation All Guns Blazing released on december 28th, previously mentioned on this site on the subject of it's remix competition which Ben Phaze ended up winning. Highlighs are the Dexorcist remix of Synapse's Mech Annoyed and Radioactive Man Remix of Paul Blackford's classic track Electro Shock.
I also missed this Electronica 2000-2009 mix done my the music editor at work Tim Noakes a massive 2 and a half hour retrospective of electronica from the last decade from his ear and he probably listens to more music than anyone else in the UK, there's a good broad scope here.
The Centrifuge and Acroplane released a great joint compilation with tracks from Ebola and Oxynucid just before Christmas [download here] have lots of acid lushness ready to go from Roy of the Ravers and Rotodrone in the coming months. Still they kicked off the year with some twisty drill n bass from Terrificolor [download here].
Here's a handy player the label put together so you can hear for yourself.
Pain Struck Stanley Dumb's new EP on Wide; Richard Wigglesworth's Merri Portland album; BLOC Weekend; Glade; more Swerved parties; going back to All Your Base in Reading; maybe getting over to Berlin this year; SUPERDISCO; DJing and still being skint but having fun.
Here's the promo video for Ben Phaze's next Tunnelsounds gig at the incredible venue of the London Transport Museum. Ben has been preparing for this event for months reworking the Tunnelsound set, recording instruments and more sounds underground as shown in the film above and Ben is even incorporating live video mixing so what we're going to get is a complete audio visual showcase.
Tickets are £7 or £5 each for groups of 4. This Friday 4th December, London Transport Museum, Covent Garden. 6.45pm to 10pm.
